I suppose that this is always a possibility. But generally fleas hang out in the dirt or grass waiting for an animal to walk by so its unlikely they'd be hanging out around your windows. I'd say your chances of getting fleas that way are slim. It's more likely that someone else or you who had contact with an animal with fleas or if you picked one up somewhere outside is the way yours would give fleas to your cat. If you are going to stress about it then you could use something like "Advantage" flea treatment that works for 3 months. Your cat is most likely to get fleas during very warm weather when they tend to thrive. So this is probably only a concern during the summer unless you live in a climate where its always 70, 80 or 90 degrees.

No, Fleas are vey good at jumping that high nad getting places like that, but unless your cat was just laying by the window leaning against it and staying there and there jst happened to be a little flea sitting net to it, it isn't possible. Even if a stray w/ fleas passed by, fleas can't get to that height without help and if your cat has flea shampoo, the fleas would be detracked.

Your cat could potentially get fleas. The fleas are much tinier than the screen and can crawl through the screen. I would just give your cat flea treatment if you decide to open your windows.

I think it is more likely that fleas come in on your shoes and socks unnoticed. Especially if there are pets in the neighborhood. Fleas can jump a long way and once you walk across the grass and they jump on you and you carry them into your house, they take one look at your smorgasbord cat and away they go.
