I am a twenty-something who has lived in Iowa City, IA for about a year, and I need help finding a good church. I'm protestant and would like a fairly open-minded, intellectual atmosphere. I also love to sing, so good music is a huge plus. I don't really want a very big church, but I know that might be my only option. Any help greatly appreciated!!

I would have to suggest First Christian Church, which is a Disciples of Christ Church on North Dubuque Street. That's the church I attended growing up (though it was at a different location at the time). They are definitely open-minded and have good music. The minister is kind of goofy, but he's a good guy.

The other possibility is always the Unitarian Universalist Church. They aren't specifically Christian, but are Christian-ish and have good music. I mean, just look at all of the famous Christmas carols that were written by Unitarian Universalist ministers. They are extremely open-minded.

You have listed all the things that YOU want. Don't you think you should be concerned with what Jesus wants?
