Stopping and taking several deep breaths is absolutely good for you. What happens is that your lungs become more saturated with oxygen in this process. It does create some calming effects, a higher sense of awareness, some slight euphoria, but most importantly it allows for your blood to be fully oxygenated, and where ther is blood, there is healing, your body is processing food better, energy to your brain increases and It just makes ya feel better over all.

I recommend everyone to do it whenever they are feeling stressed, have a restless night of sleeping, etc... Its a form of meditation. And anytime your body can relax after a hard days work, is definetly a good thing.

Experts say yes. Deep breathing is allegedly good for reducing stress. It also helps oxygenate blood more. Both of those things have health benefits. Inhale slowly, hold, and exhale.
