I think a decent guide may be the Statement of Faith that is produced by the National Association of Evangelicals. Here is a link:

However, I think there are other FAITH STATeMENTS that make a person an evangelical, I just want to get your opnion and respones.

I am not talking about EVANGELISM or an EVANGELIST

I am talking about the genre of American Christianity known as Evangelicals.

Personally, I do not.

However, the name/word "evangelical" has been hijacked by modern American Protestantism. To be an "evangelical" simply means to spread the Gospel. That's what an evangelical does. Greek: evangelion = "good news".

I'm not sure most modern evangelicals remember what the true Gospel even is anymore.
