The appearance of the oil is actually more dependent on the darkness of the coffee roast. During coffee roasting, the sugars, fats and starches that are within the bean are emulsified, caramelized and released. As the bean absorbs heat, the color shifts to yellow and then to a light "cinnamon" brown then to a dark and oily color. This creates the coffee oil that appears on the bean's surface. This oil is what gives coffee its distinctive aroma and taste. Lighter roasts show no oil. The darker you roast the coffee, the more oily the beans appear as the oil surfaces.

We constantly vied for the "honor" of being the only that floor the coffee at an analogous time as mom carried out the finding out! enjoyed the scent... constantly have, constantly will... of coffee grounds. yet, strangly, I by no skill loved the flavour and don't drink coffee. these days, as quickly as I shop, I savor going exceeded the coffee grinders interior the coffee aisle, so i will scent that superb scent back. Heck, i could desire to snicker the grounds, yet hate the flavor! Have a pro day!
