I have used retin a. it is really powerful and you should make sure that you use a noncomodogenic moisturizer for your face because it will most likely become dry when you begin using the retin a. it didn't work very well for me but i had to go off of it so that i could go on accutane and the combination of both was bad for me, but it is the strongest topical stuff out there so i think it will begin working within a few weeks.
Good Luck

I used Retin A for a while years ago as well and I know that it did work in the time I used it. I think it took a week of use before I started to notice anything. The thing I didn't like about it was that it dried out my mouth a lot.

I used it years ago. It helped strengthen the skin and clear up some of the areas. Is makes your skin sun sensitive but what the heck...it helped me...I was on it for about 6 months total..results in 2 to 3 months...you are rebuliding the pores here..it takes time to heal..
