Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and Commerce Secretary Carlos
Gutierrez met with their Mexican and Canadian counterparts in Ottawa today. On the agenda? The Security and Prosperity
Partnership, which could lead to a North American Union. All of this comes without the consent of Congress or the American
voters and taxpayers.

Do you support this ?

Should they be able to do something that affects 3 countrys, and millions of people without our consent ?

What are your views ?

To "Why".. I question because I can, as a tax paying legal American. Its my right and my obligation to question our government. I am not a sheep to follow blindly. Unless citizens have a part of the due process that our nations laws demand, trust me, this will not happen.

The North American Union is inevitable. There are now five such economic unions or regions in the world. We have no choice but to be in this union if we are to remain competitive, maintain our standard of living and realistically continue to participate in the existing global economy. But, it terrifies me because there is an alarming and sudden concentration of wealth in a few hands secondary to the earlier N.A.F.T.A. component of this union. I fear an oligarchy that will enslave us for generations with poverty-level wages. And, from what I can ascertain from it all, that is exactly what is happening. At first, I bit my lip and pooh-poohed the potential reduction in the working class wage as an inevitable part of "equalizing" with the economies of the rest of the world. But, if you really look at the history of the steps having been done toward this reduction of the working-classes in both the U.S. and Mexico, it is VERY clear that we are getting screwed. The Union is inevitable and good. What isn't good, is the working classes having no say or control in any of it. But, the working class has been abdicating their rights in these matters for years now by abstaining from labor unions and labor movements and by allowing gradual erosion of labor rights. Membership in labor unions is currently down to 12%. We cannot regain any control of our economic or political destiny unless we get involved and get real. This is really happening. Blaming Mexicans is stupid. If all working people on both sides of the border were to unite, we could get control of this.

Just hang on to your seats it's going to be a wild ride here on out. Of course i don't support it. Sovereignty of this once great nation is not worth a couple of dollars. And that damn highway crap can go straight to hell also.
LOL. Point of fact we can remain very competitive in the global economy without becoming a "union" with two other countries to accomplish this. Thus forming another corner of the tripartite(3) you know the Asia Pacific union, European Union, and the north American Union. the (terrorists)illegal immigrants are just mere pawns, but they have been the essential key element in lowering the standards of living in the United States and pushing us ever closer to the North American Union. Thumbsdown me all you want, but if you truly want to stop the events taking place. Cut the money supply to the financial institutions, get the federal reserve out of our government and send them to packin, abolish the IRS, deport all illegal immigrants, and secure our borders. Everything els at this point is moot. Until we begin to push forward, or don't you have the balls to do it? I see that most are pretty good at just running their mouths. Money is going to kill us all if we let it.
To Crazybird: As do i, and you know the funny thing is it can work. But not with what is taking place right now. By the way very well said.

I scratched my arm until it bled once while having a bad dream. Other than that, they're not harmful unless they're so bad you can't sleep. I have a friend who has chronic nightmares and has had to take medication for them, but now she sleeps fine.

I think this is insane. I do not support this at all.

I know everybody thinks it's Americans just wanting to isolate themselves......keep all the money..(where is it anyway?) and depriving others of any wealth.

I have always been one that had lofty ideals of a wonderful Star Trek sort of future. We'll all just sit around and the world will be a wonderful place. I suppose sometime it might be but I can without a doubt say ...we just aren't ready for this yet. We have taken massive steps backwards from where we were when I had those lofty views. Greed and power have such a strong foothold now it's not even funny. Hate abounds like I never experienced before.

I could see us with Canada. Basicly the same culture, same views etc. I can't with Mexico. Not at all. The corruption and such is so deeply ingrained in their culture that I see it as an anchor around our necks. There's no moving forward for us. It's like we have to go back to wallowing in the trenches and drag them up and they don't seem to even want that to happen.

If there was any improvement in Mexico......ANYTHING....but there's not. 100% corruption and we're supposed to save them? They haven't tried to improve their education or do anything for their poor. They don't even want to do anything to improve ......they just want you to GIVE them everything and then trust they'll be fair in return. I don't even think they know what Fair means? Why would I want to join up with a country who HATES us? Why would I want to help people who want to KILL me? Why would I want to join forces with a country who has no respect for laws or anything else? We have NOTHING in common with these people than an unfortunate border. We're going to have to step back a few hundred years to bring these people to simple civilization. I know it's not all......but darn.....they know nothing about basic hygiene, birth control, nutrition, plumbing, they still think beating your wife is fine, stealing is ok, lying is ok,.......I guess I sort of feel like a grandma who doesn't want to go back and do it all over again. Been there done that. Went through all the changes before.....it was hard and painful and frankly I don't want to do it again....ESPECIALLY with people who really don't want it.

They have more in common with South America than they do here. They are a piece of a different puzzle.....they just don't seem to have any sense of compromise or anything else that's necessary to get along. Sorry.....it is a generalization.....but it's how I feel.

We made blacks stay away. We aren't keeping them (hispanics) from being a part of who we are.....they have made it clear they don't want to be a part of anything of who we are. There's a difference.

They have put the cart before the horse. And I'm totally against it.

There is no country, nor has there ever been one, that is 100% democratic. The rich will always oppress the poor: this is something neither you or I can help.

P.S. Hey Katts!

It's a nightmare, and I don't support it.

Oh I can't really share my views, for one thing it would be considered racist, hostile, very politically incorrect, and Yahoo will most definitely delete it. The only thing I can say is forget about getting ready for open borders, and get ready for Civil War II.

Canada won't allow it unless the U.S. is hanging something over their heads. But I agree, they are behaving more republican and less democratic all the time.
