We had a cat with acute renal failure - when we refused to spend $1000+ dollars for tests and treatments he was pronounced cured. We took him to another vet and found out that it was his time and had to put him to sleep.

I would seek an additional opinion from another vet.

Hopefully your cat is out of his crises. He has been away from you for a long time so he may be somewhat disoriented right now and being away with all the necessary medical procedures probably have him scared too.

Just cuddle him if he wants that and talk to him reassuringly. Be sure that he is eating in the next 24 hours. Give him some canned food - Natural Balance or Wellness. Canned food is much better for him because it has necessary moisture. Probably that should be his diet in future to prevent further problems. A dry food diet can be the culprit with renal problems in male cats.

i'm no professional yet what you're asking approximately is kidney failure. this means that a cat's kidneys at the instant are not cleansing pollutants from the blood ensuing in a buildup of pollutants. i can inform you that this technique will take place quite promptly. interior of below a week for advantageous if no longer basically a rely of days. i think of the approach will grow to be very painful to the cat via fact the pollutants start to realize bigger tiers. in case you have a cat that has been clinically determined with this difficulty, i'm advantageous the vet additionally reported putting the cat to sleep. this could be my advice as properly. in case you quite care with regard to the cat, you will no longer enable it to flow contained in direction of the suffering.
