Listen to all of the very good suggestions that you are given, and above all do not give up!!! Go out looking through the neighborhood, and also ask any of the kids around if they have seen your cat. They can sometimes help you, and occasionally they take cats home, if they think they are strays. Please keep us informed, beside your question, if you are having any luck. I wish you the best!!!

First thing to do is call all local vets and your local animal shelters and make sure he's not there and notify them all that he is missing and give them your contact info. The first thing people usually do when finding an animal is call vets and shelters to see if anyone has reported them missing or not. Next find a photo and make a flyer for him in Word and print them up and put them in a five to ten mile radius from where the cat went missing. Putting them up at the vets and animal shelters helps too, cause while people wait to be seen, they usually scan the bulletin boards. Be patient someone will find him, or being a burmese, someone probably took him for their own. Burmese are beautiful expensive cats and lots of people would love to own one. I'm sure if that happened, they are taking good care of him, hope that didn't happen. Hoe you find him soon. Good luck.

Put up posters with a pic of him on offering a reward for him but don't say how much the reward is.Put them in shops, supermarkets, post offices,lamposts-anywhere you can really within a mile or 2 of your house.

Also consider paying to have ads(again with a pic) put in the local papers. You could even ask your local radio station if you can pay to have a description of him and the fact that there's a reward etc read on air.

Phone all police stations, animal rescue centres(RSPCA,private run ones etc) and vets within miles of your home and give his description and ask them to look out for him being brought in.(If he has a microchip this will be easier)If your in the UK also call the local council animal control officer. You should also tell enviromental health as they will be the people who get called in the sad event he has been killed on the road.

Go door to door and ask all your neighbours within about a mile in case 1 of them has taken him in thinking he was a stray. Also ask them to check in sheds, garages and other outbuildings in case he got accidentally locked in.

Check anywhere where building work has happened near you as cats can fall asleep on building sites and be sealed in by a new wall.

Finally every night when it gets dark and quiet go out and call him.

Don't give up even if he is gone for weeks. If he isn't neutered he could have gone looking for girls and may be gone months.Even my spayed female disappeared for over a month and then came back as if nothing had happened-I still have no idea where she went.

Good luck,I hope you find him.

You have a lot of good answers as to advertising your lost cat. Don't despair. My cat was lost for two weeks once (and we lived in a new location at the time) but came back in two weeks. I heard him crying at the back door in the middle of the night. So try to keep alert for that possibility. I wish he could have shared his experiences with us.

When my cat went missing - I made a poster with his picture, a description, my phone no. and "Reward" and handed it out door to door, or in mailboxes throughout a 4 block radius of my house. I found him within three days. Also as back-up call local SPCA and animal control services. GOOD LUCK! PS - my cat is a siamese.

Make posters and put them in busy areas (supermarkets, pubs, shops...) and put them in places close to where you lost the cat, look in all its favourite hiding places if u know them, call RSPCA or places close to where you lost the cat and give a description/photo/poster. Good luck

All my lost cats came back home. They have a good sense about them. They rub on eveything marking their scent. If he had not been spaded of neutered, He might take a little longer to come back home. Those animal instincts, meow, meow. Good luck.

I agree with other post. Make flyers and post in the neighborhood put in mailboxes, sign up for serveral search-lost pet classified in your area. Check out vets and rescue places, apartments or other hot spots your little guy might have decided to check out. Try taking favorite treats and calling for him when you are doing the mailbox thing.

Put up posters EVERYWHERE around your town with a picture of him, and maybe offer a reward if you can.

Also, be sure to check in with all the local animal shelters as someone might find him and bring him there.
