I work in a big office. We have lots of bathrooms with many stalls in each. How can anyone take a huge messy dump & NOT FLUSH THE TOILET WHEN THEY GET UP TO LEAVE? Why do they not flush their own waste? They leave it for the unrfotunate bathroom atttendant? ugh. gross.

I don't know why. It just seems like common sence doesn't it? But people can get real bad. I use to work in retail and we had a public restroom. Sometimes people would go in and lay a loaf on the floor, or worse. Sometimes we got mentally handicapped homeless people and they would smear it on the walls!!! NOT LYING!!! Even worse, sometimes people would go in with EXPLOSIVE DIARHEA and blow thier waste all over the toilet, stall and floor. That is by far the most disgusting sight I have ever seen in my life! The smell would waft onto the sales floor and once caused a lady to puke in my computer department. It was horrible. And the fire code prevented us from locking the restroom, so we just had to deal with the problems!
Anyway, back on track. Maybe people don't flush is because it is not their house, so they feel no obligation to a tidy restroom. Just a hunch.

To me its just pure stupidity OR laziness.. Maybe they don't want to use their hand to flush. as in the flusher thing. Hope the heck they wash up after wards.Some people don't know how lucky they are to have a bathroom. I grew up with relatives and a friend where you had to go outside .. I mean an outside toilet with 2 or 3 seats there. Talk about rough. Had to wipe with a sears catalog. There's no excuse for this behavior now. And i don't blame you a bit for feeling like this. It just turns my stomach when i go into one that you see the results of someone that didn't have the dignity to flush.

1. to save water, which is a scarce resource.
(if it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down)
this is an environmentally correct way to proceed in many places
2. because they are accustomed to automatic flush toilets and don't remember this one doesn't do it automatically
3. because they have an immunosuppresant in their system and don't want to touch the toilet handle because of germs - that they might get sick?
4. they forgot?
5. this happens at my work: some of the toilets don't flush or don't flush completely when you press the thingy. so unless you stay to check that it flushed it might not.
6. maybe the toilet is broken. that is in my experience the most often reason why the situation exists. unless YOU go in and try to flush it you can't be sure the toilet actually works.

The people do that either because they are too lazy to flush their buisness, they want to torture the next person that enters the stall or that they are too grossed out to touch the handle on the toilet.

Can you imagine their own home bathrooms! Morons mostly, idiots, animals, they figure they may get germs if they touch the flusher. Mostly it is just they don't give a damn about anyone but themselves, no self respect, just sex and money addicts. I traveled across the country and even in good restaurants I saw only one urinal or toilet that did not have hand paper towels not thrown in them to stop up.

Ask my kids!!??!! Actually, when I was a kid I used to think if I flushed the toilet a monster would get me, so I either left it or flushed it and ran!!

Maybe they do it on purpose to cause you such distress. And to make you ask rediculous questions on the world-wide-web about people's toilet issues.
But, I have to admit that is disgusting. Maybe they think they will cause the toilet to overflow, resulting in the flooding of the bathroom. You decide which is worse, I guess.

It's just like asking why people don't wash their hands after using the toilet they don't flush. It's nasty. It's so hard not to say something to these people, ugh...And to the people afraid to touch the handle, use your foot!

I work in a kitchen, and our dishwashers are the most horrible, nasty people I have ever met. Don't they teach boys to aim in a toilet when they are like 2? If you can't see the dang thing to pee in the potty, then you need to sit down!! And don't forget to flush, its deees-gusting!

I have seen that too. I don't get it. I guess maybe one possibility is that they thought they flushed but it didnt go down... otherwise, they are just plain gross people
