Looking for notable women from any religion. Preferably some less well known ones, not Mother Theresa, Joan of Arc, Hildegard of Bingen, etc.

How about Deborah, from the 4th chapter of Judges? She was a prophetess, military leader, and judge. In the same book is Jael, who wasn't a leader per se, but she did something pretty badass. There's more to the story than this, but basically she killed the General (I think) of an enemy army by driving a tent stake into his head while he was sleeping.

Talk about strong women.... :-)

Deborah - judge in the Old Testament.

Esther - Queen who help save the Jews from sure death (as celebrated during Purim).

Rahab - saved her family and provided shelter for Israel's spies (book of Joshua).

Mary - first human to see the resurrected Christ.

Mary - annointed Jesus

And the list goes on and on...
