I went to the dr. on wednesday and I asked him to look into my ears. I had just gotton over a sinus infection and my ears were feeling full. He said the left ear had some fluid in it but it was clear and not an infection. I had just stopped my antibiotics the day before. He didn't really tell me anything to do for it. Yesterday I was getting a bit dizzy but nothing too bad. This afternoon I'm feeling quite dizzy, especially when I lay my head down. My ear still feels full. Could it have turned into an infection or is it just the fluid sloshing around in there?

Did you just stop the antibiotics, or had you used them all? If you stop them only because you feel better, most of the infection has been killed, but so have your body's natural defenses, so it can come back worse than the first time.

An inner ear infection will cause dizziness, in that when you bend over and then straighten up, it's like you don't know which way is up. Call the doctor's office who treated you for the sinus and ask what you should do for your balance being off. He'll probably recommend a decongestant which will thin the fluid in the inner ear and enable your balance to correct itself. He may think you're fine, but he will know that inner ear problem can go with sinus trouble. He could also prescribe a different antibiotic.

Try putting some rubbing alcohol in the ear canal--that works if it's something like swimmer's ear. Have the person leave the alcohol in the ear canal for a minute or so before draining it--then the fluid should come out as long as it is still somewhat superficial and has not become an infection.

I would call my doctor ASAP!!!
If you did not tell them you just finished anti-botics, it's not right in front of them, and they just don't know/remember.
Call your doctor-- this could be developing into an inner ear infection.....causing dizziness.

Go now,it's Friday!!!
Don't wait, this is not something to mess around with.

Get an appointment today!
ask to see an ear/nose/throat doctor if your dr. says the same again. See another doctor!

Everytime my doctor sees fluid in my ear she tells me to take suddafed...why? I have no idea...she just does. I'd go back to him and tell him about the dizzyness it could be more than just fluid in the ear.
