I've been using the normal exercise and eat healthy diet, but my weight just isn't seeming to budge anymore. I need to know what other dieters are doing to lose the last few pounds. Thanks!!

All diets work in the same way. If they restrict calories to a point where you are burning more than you eat, you will lose weight. If the diet does this than it will work, if not you will fail. Whether or not a diet is healthy is separate from whether or not it will work. If you severely restrict calories to under 1200 per day, you will lose weight but going this route is very unhealthy so be careful when reading about these diets. Also beware of diets that limit you to one food. Even if you are taking in a good amount of calories, you won't be able to get all the vitamins, nutrients, fat, carbohydrates or protein from just one type of food. You have hit a plateau! You should eat 'normal meals for 2 or 3 days, but dont go overboard aand cheat with lots of forbidden sweets!!! Your body thinks you are starving so it has slowed your metabelism way down to help you survive -- this is what we inherited from our prehistoric ancestors. After those 2 or 3 days go back to your diet and add an extra 1/2 hour of exercize per day( dancing to the oldies is great and wont make you miserable like the treadmill, etc. !!!). Lay off starches, and carbs (incldg sugar) when you go back on diet. Hope this fools mother nature and gets you back on track!

Hi, I'm on a diet plan and so far I've lost 17lb, I just started a support group where I'm posting the different plans and recipes.

If you click on the link below and then in PHASE # 1 -- NO CARBS you will see the very first plan, i'm about to leave phase # 2 but haven't had time to post it yet. I will keep posting important info for the rest of the group, you're more than welcome to join or to just to check out the different diets & recipes we are working on.

Thanks!!

P.S. I'm not trying to sell anything, I'm just looking around for more people to share my diet and experiences with. Also, it's always nice to have some support and hear what has worked for others.

I quit eating meat completely, this was a big step for me as Im not a small guy and I was worried about being hungry all the time but I get to eat more of other things that are filling but have fewer calories. I eat peanut butter and all kinds of beans for my protein and vegetables and fruits dont alot of calories but are very filling.
Ive also tried alot of the soy meat substitutes in the freezer section of the store and they arent bad at all, heck even BBQ ribs made from soy!
