yes, you need an environment agency license to fish all british inland waters, around £25 for a game/coarse license-salmon/sea trout is a lot more expensive, but as you are fishing pool you need not worry about that. when you pay for your license they will ask whether for coarse or game, depending on what you tell them depends on where the money gets allocated, paying for game will go towards improving greyling & brown trout rivers

Believe it or not, you couldn't even fish in a puddle on the pavement outside your house without a licence. It's nothing to do with the water it's a licence to use a rod and reel.

You do in the UK. Some fisheries have a one day license included in the price of your permit to fish, they do at Kielder.

I would think that the game warden would be on your case for a huge fine. Check the rules and regulations guide at your local bait shop or given away free a your local WALMART. State of Illinois does not allow this.

Most, and I say most places in the U.S. dont require one...you just pay so much per pound or inch whichever....my uncle owned a trout run and people paid by the inch.....good luck
