If you could buy a tiny part of the Amazon, like 1 square metre or square foot, would you? how much would you pay? what would you like to see done with the money?

1sq. meter, sure 2 yeah 3or more why not. $1.00 per. I don't have much money... However since i have no money and it's not likely that it will ever be "cheap" enough for me to buy. I do the next best thing... I buy products that are made organicaly, that are fair labor/fair wage and not made from non renewable or old growth resources... There are exceptions but I try... Your $ spent with Eco-responsible companies is just like buying a meter of the Amazon. It sends a clear message to those other companies that you will no longer support them.

You can't possibly own a square meter of the Amazon like you own your house. I suspect that you are really talking about just donating money to a group trying to save the rain forest. In that case I would assume everyone's money would be pooled and the organization would buy some land and try to protect it. Count me out though.

Considering that an acre of corn converts more carbon dioxide to oxygen in a year than an acre of rainforest does, I'd rather buy an acre of corn. It's a whole lot cheaper too.

If I did, I could cut the tree down and make a nice 2nd home.
Or a small MacDonalds kiosk.
