I made up the quote and someone stole it and made it their own..can i do something about it?

You can do nothing about it. It is not copyrighted, you are on a public website so no. Sorry.

According to the person above me you need a famous WW2 military general on your quote (Patton). I believe they meant patent which is for inventions. Seeing as how you didn't invent the concept of inventions I would recommend getting a copyright. Which if the quote is this important to you might be a good idea. But then everytime you use it you must state that is it (C)
