Abraham's servant set out to find a wife for Abraham's son, Isaac. When he met the girl the Lord showed him, Rebeka, she watered all his camels. Afterwards, the servant gave her gold bracelets and a nose ring as gifts. (Genesis 24:22)

1 Samuel 16:7 "But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.'"

Proverbs 11:22 "Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion."

Proverbs 31:30 "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." (NIV) [this passage talks about the value of a noble wife... what characteristics are to be praised]

Jeremiah 4:30 "...Why dress yourself in scarlet and put on jewels of gold? Why shade your eyes with paint? You adorn yourself in vain..." (NIV)

Jezebel, the wicked queen, is now associated with the excessive use of makeup, and people often refer to someone as being like a "painted Jezebel." (2 Kings 9:30)

As with everything in the Bible, the most important factor is your attitude, your state of mind, your relationship with God. If a person wears jewelry because they are preoccupied with their outward appearance, this isn't good. But if their heart is right with God then it's not important whether they wear jewelry or not (guys, girls, anything. I mean, guys wearing jewelry is often looked down upon by the conservative, but it's all about a person's heart, not the outward appearance).

Romans 14 1 Corinthians 10:32 both talk about acting in ways that are considerate to other Christians who have problems with things that don't bother you.
There's a very fine line to walk between (a) doing something to be rebellious or get a reaction, and (b) doing something simply because you want to, and you like it. On one hand, you don't want to give into legalism and people who put more importance on outward appearance than the heart, but on the other hand you don't want to be constantly causing strife and creating problems for others (causing them to stumble in their walk with God as a result of things that you do that confuse their convictions).

The Old Testament outlawed tatoos etc because they were a form of pagan worship.Well ,unless you're a nut case that doesn't happen anymore. Now it 's just a fashion statement.Nothing in the New Testament about it.
I believe it is in Leviticus somewhere(no bible handy),it talks about tatoos ,cutting ones flesh and shaping the hair with razors.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. If there is, then I need to cancel my appointment with my piercing place today at 4. I think it matters what is on the inside more than the outside. I really do not think God cares. If he does, he certainly didn't let me know. Off to get numbers 16 and 17 done!

Exo 21:5 And if the slave truly says, I love my master, my wife and my children; I do not desire to go out free,
Exo 21:6 his master shall bring him to God, and one shall bring him to the door, or to the doorpost; and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl, and he shall serve him forever.

The custom of boring the ear as a mark of slavery appears to have been a common one in ancient times, observed in many nations.

I think it says "don't mark yourself" like unholy markings and then there is the "Your bodies are His temple.." look on it
I know it does talk about women with gold rings in their ears and noes even, like when they are getting married. I didn't look this up just now but maybe you can look in the back of your Bible and see the references to "Rings" or something

I actually really mention about markings to the dead on the body. They wore ear rings, and nose rings, the Lord even decked them out with gold earrings.

Le 19:28 “‘And YOU must not make cuts in YOUR flesh for a deceased soul, and YOU must not put tattoo marking upon yourselves. I am Jehovah.
2 Corinthians 7:1
Therefore, since we have these promises, beloved ones, let us cleanse ourselves of every defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in God’s fear.
Jesus was our model, and I can't picture Jesus with piercings.
Jehovah our GOD is HOLY.

actually i think it referrs to "self mutilation".

however that term can be loosely interpereted as some people look like they were mutilated while in the womb.

There is no reason for girls to be ugly except that.
