I am sure there isn't a medical thing going on, so it isn't that. When he is on the changing table, getting dressed, going to bed, doing anything he doesn't want to be doing, he becomes a terror. Screaming, pinching, biting. He hasn't learned this behavior anywhere!!! We are calm and normal parents. It seems to be quite natural. Is this a stage?

Your child is realizing he is his own person and showing his independance. He is testing to see what his limits are and what your reaction will be. My advice: make your rules and boundaries and stick to them. Don't give him the reaction he is looking for and get upset or give in to him. My daughter is 15 months old and has just gotten over this stage. When she would throw a tantrum, my husband and I would just wait until it was over. If your child doesn't get a response they will give up. Be sure to praise when your child is behaving good so. When my daughter started this behavior we didn't know where she had learned it from, I'm a stay at home mom with only one child so she hasn't seen other children act that way. I guess children are just born with the knowledge of how to drive their parents insane!!!

It is fine - he's just learning that he is his own person, and he knows what he wants. He wants you to understand that he has an opinion too, even if he can't actually say the words. Temper tantrums usually start around a baby's first birthday because of this.

Nope, he's just growing up. He's learning how to express his feelings and doesn't have words to say what's on his mind. He will out grow it. Yikes, I have a 10 1/2 month old who is super sweet...I'm not ready for that again! (I also have a 3 year old).

Yes, this is totally normal. I have 3 boys and they all were bratty from around 1 to 4 years. As he gets older he will definately grow out of it.

Absolutely normal. The Terrible Twos don't happen after the child TURNS two, they happen in the child's second year. Basically, from the time they turn one (in your case, a month early), until they turn two.

Don't worry about it. It's perfectly normal for your wee one to be testing his boundaries right now.

The little guy's 11 months old; give him a break! I'm sure you pulled some shenanigans on your parents when you were 11 months old!!
