Here's the possibilities:

1) A God or Gods created the universe in its entirety.
2) A "big bang" started the universe as more or less something came out of nothing.
3) The universe is going through an infinite cycle of expanding and collapsing, and there was no beginning.
4) Other

Tell me what you think and tell me why. I really feel that this is the most important question in answering our existence.

If we want to know the age of something, wouldn't it make sense to ask the One that made it? Reason this out. How can nothing explode and make anything? Can an explosion produce random order? Most evolutionists have come to the conclusion that the universe is finite (that it has a beginning). There is also ample evidence that everything is winding down. The stars are dying, the moon is losing it's gravity, the sun is getting colder, etc.
I believe the Bible is the infallible word of God. He said that He created it in six days just like He said. There are other reasons, such as : the Bible tells of springs under the ocean. In the 1960's & 70's, scientists finally discovered them off fo the coast of California. This was written thousands of years ago. It also tells of the paths on the oceans. This was figured out in the 1400's. This is how we sail from continent to continent! This was also written 1000's of years ago. In the Book of Job, it describes Dinosaurs. Before 1841 they were called dragons. I hope that this helps!!

4) Inflaton-Inflationary Theory.

And I feel this is the least important question. What matters is what we can do to make the world a better place in the here-and-now, since I cannot change the past or guess where I'll be in the future.

michael m: The Big Bang wasn't from nothing, nor was it an explosion.

And as it happens, the sun is getting HOTTER, not colder. This is a consequence of the core beginning small amounts of helium fusion. Stellar output has increased about 1% over the past 100 years.
