I am curious. I know what i paid for my pug and they are a less common breed.

I would also assume that the more uncommon breeds tend to be more pricey. I would guess $2000 or more for something like that.

Depending on the parents, the quality of the puppy, and the contract you get (look for someone with a complete lifetime contract), you're looking at around $800 to $1500 for your puppy. Remember that you get what you pay for but the most expensive puppy is not necessarily the best. Forget price and look for someone with a contract that you can live with, who has good references, health tested breeding stock, and that is willing to let you come see the dogs. It doesn't matter if you actually intend to go see the dogs but make sure you ask if you can come see the dogs. If they don't want you seeing the dogs for any reason other than they have a new litter on the ground (they should invite you at another time if this is the case), RUN AWAY. Ask questions and if they don't seem to have a clue, find another breeder. Ask for a copy of all health clearances (unfortunately some people lie about this). Ask what diseases run in the lines. There is no such thing as a 100% clean line but the parents themselves should be healthy. A breeder who insists there is nothing is fooling himself/herself and you. Remember that the closest breeder is not always the best for YOU. You need to let the breeder know what you are looking for in a dog and if their dogs aren't usually like that, look for someone who has dogs that ARE like that. Different lines have different traits and it's inevitable that some lines aren't going to work for you. I highly recommend joining the Brussels Griffon club for your country and asking them to recommend 5-10 breeders. They should be able to do that and odds are one of those breeders will have what you are looking for. Good luck in your search! BTW, you'll also want to do a bit of research on the breed as the breeder may very well ask YOU questions as well. This is nothing personal and they just want the very best for their dogs.

It depends on your area, the breeder and the litter. I'd say you won't find a pet quality pup from a show breeder for less than $1000-$1500 around here.
