Why did God make us all speak different languages at the Tower of Babel, if God wanted us all the read the same book?

Why didn’t God instruct someone from each language to write a bible so there would not be any misinterpretations by the translators, who were not divinely inspired?

Genesis 11:5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower that the people had started building. 11:6 And the Lord said, “If as one people all sharing a common language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be beyond them. 11:7 Come, let’s go down and confuse their language so they won’t be able to understand each other.” (NET version). God confused their languages because they were not obeying his command to go to fill the earth (see Genesis 9:1); instead they chose to all bond together in one valley. By mixing up their languages, the people were forced to scatter and fulfill God's plan.
Many times, God used someone that he had worked in the life of as an insturment to write his Word- Paul's letters could not have been written by someone in China because they didn't have Paul's experiences. We need to trust in God's sovereignty over the human minds used for translation.

These men in Babylon built The Tower of Babel to reach up to the gods, ie sun god etc to worship these other gods. God scattered these disobedient pagans and confused their language. Bibles are translated into other languages. God did not and will not allow His Word to be in error. In His Word are no errors, inconsistencies etc. Amazing how His Holy Word has remained in existence and always will. God IS Sovereign, in complete control!! Read the Holy Bible.

Why was god so afraid of a tower built thousands of years ago? It could not have been more than a few stories high. People did not have the technology to build anything much higher. Today, there are plenty of super tall buildings that would dwarf the tower at Babylon. Yet, god does nothing about those.

Did he suffer an irrational fear and get some therapy and get over it between now and then?

Because God's plan for mankind involved man spreading out in the earth and filling it with people. Nimrod made himself king and had all the people get together to stay at one place and build a city with a tall tower so they could make a name for themselves. King Nimrod is called a mighty hunter in opposition to Jehovah, so God confused their languages so that they would spread about in the earth as is God's purpose. At this time God had not yet chosen Israel as a holy nation, who are the writers of the Bible, at the time there had not yet been given any laws other than the natural laws we have within us, as, not killing, raping, stealing and so on, we know naturally in our hearts these things are wrong and so did the people back then.

He confused their speech becuz they were trying to reach the heavens to become gods and God is to righteous to not give consequences for sin.
Man messed it up with sin so as a result God "confused" our languages- or you could just read that part of the Bible and find out.

God did inspire some one from each language to TRANSLATE the Bible.

The different languages were because man was trying to reach the heavens and declare himself a God ("lets make our own names") so to stop the process isntantly, different languages were made. As to your second question, interesting... I'm not sure either..

Man, again, was trying to be God, so God stepped in so man wouldn't hurt himself. God, being God, is the creator of man. He knows man's limits and his foolishness. God scrambled their language to divert their attention AND to help populate the world, which is what they were supposed to be doing.

God had us all speaking different languages b/c we were trying to build a building to get to him (heaven) so we could be as high as him and God didnt like it so he mixed up our languages so that we couldnt be able to communicate. No communication = no building. Hope that helped.
