I don't think it is unsual if they are having nightmares. If they were not having these problems before the nightmares occured then it must be the nightmares that are causing the bed wetting.

By all means do NOT scold them for it. It is embarassing enough as a child, imagine how it would be for a teenager. It is emotionally damaging and that isn't what a child needs at any age.

Try to find the source of the nightmares then you may beable to stop them. If the nightmares stop, the bed wetting will stop. Until then, you can get the Goodnights night time underwear.

Try taking them to a therapist, so they can get to the source of the nightmares. Just be supportive, they need reassurance not some one teasing or talking about their situations. It could go away on its own too.

If a teenager is having severe nightmares and wetting the bed, I would suggest seeking counseling. There are issues that are either known or unkown that need to be addressed. Dealing with these issues alone can lead to other problems far beyond bedwetting. Seek counseling to uncover the source of these issues to help your troubled teen to deal with it.

Its not unusual for serial rapists and murderers to wet the bed until they are in their early teens. Maybe this can be applied to your kids.
