Since these 2 dogs already know each other - and for a dog the important thing is scent - they should be ok with each other, provided both have stable temperaments. The best way to introduce dogs who don't know each other is in adjacent rooms with a baby gate in between so they get used to each other's scent - your dogs already have that. So, let them in a room together, supervised at first, until you know how they'll react. Some jockeying for position will be normal, you don't need to interfere unless they carry it to excess. They'll work it out between them what their pecking order is and you can help by going along with that - whichever dog is top is the one you should pet, greet and feed first.

When I got married, my husband brought his not so well mannered, un-socialized to humans and other animals, dog into my home with my big brute of a lap dog and my other animals - I was concerned, as his was not neutered and mine was, plus my female was spayed and both dogs were socialized. I contacted an animal trainer and he said just put them together and let them go - they might fight, but rarely will it get dangerous. They will establish Alpha and that will be it. I was extremely nervous about it - but now they are together all the time - they just cannot chew bones in the same room anymore.

I would gradually put them together and watch them closely. My momhas two females and they fight all the time. I have a male JRT and my dad has a male and they fight all the time. They might try to show eachother who is boss, and who is more dominant. My dog just the other day ot in a fight with my dads dog and got his leg ripped open and now he has a cast on his leg. So be careful. Good Luck.

Just let them get used to each other, they will set boundries, reinforce them and then they will be fine.
