I think the problem is you are doing too much to please her. She doesn't see you as the alpha. She thinks she is in charge and in dog world that means you should be doing whatever she wants. If she was my dog I would start by putting the appropriate size choke chain on her. I prefer the ones with the small links. Go to the pet store and see if someone can show you how to put it on and use it. The trick is to push it all the way up her neck, right below the ears, so when she tries to pull it feels uncomfortable. You'll have to adjust it several times per walk, because it tends to slide down to the base of the neck. Once at the base of the neck it acts as a harness and she can pull you all day long (not good). If you have time, sign up for a training class where they'll teach you to how to handle her. You also need to teach her you are the alpha. Walk at your own pace, and tell her where to go. If you are walking down the sidewalk, every now and them do a 180 and walk the other way. Tell her "this way daisy". After a few days she'll figure out you are in charge. Always talk to her nicely when giving her commands. When she starts the barking, tug on her choke chain (right below the ears) and say "Daisy, no bark". If she is pulling you, give the choke chain a quick tug and say "Daisy, no pull". Also, make her sit at every cross walk or curb. This reinforces the fact you are the alpha. Do this a few times and you'll be surprised at the effect. Lastly, go to the library and look for books on dog training. There are plenty. Remember that dogs are very hierarchical animals, if they don't know you are the boss they figure they are.

It sounds to me like you need to take control of her. Get her a harness that she can't get out of. Don't let her decide where you go. If she's going in the wrong direction just stop. Tug her leash the way you want her to go and do not let her go the other way. It will take some time but eventually she'll realize she's not going anywhere unless it's the way you want to go. The barking is a hard issue to deal with. I'm still working on that with my dog so I don't know what to tell you.
Good luck.

Your dog is getting defensive. (my dog tries to do the same thing) If your dog is barking at a bag, take her over and look at it. Show her that it's just a bag, talk to her and tell her it's ok. Now that she's not barking any more praise her and say what a good dog she is. You can also make bags and things move in front of her at home and help her remain calm with something moving in front of her. Hope this helps! Good luck!

She is in charge and she knows it! She is dominant over you. you need to let her know you are in controll and if you think your being mean your not you are taking control of the situation. she should not lead but be beside you at all times and when she barks let her no you wont have anything to do with it. it will take sometime to get her corrected probably. if she is not fixed then consider it. my pom is so much like this but i took controll and fixed her. it helps alot! Now pull on that leash it won't hurt her just her feelings.

I'd recommend a gentle leader head collar, too. I had one for my 110 lb dog that used to drag me around and it worked wonders. It will put you in control of the dog, not the other way around. She should be walking at the pace you want her to, in the direction you want her to. You could also probably really benefit from some training lessons. They will teach you how to be in charge of the dog, so that she will listen to you and behave the way you want her to.
Good luck!

First, YOU ARE THE BOSS, NOT THE DOG.
The dog should go where you go, walk at your pace, and not bark at every single thing it sees. She has not been properly socialized, and you need to invest in a better collar and a training class.

It sounds like she is the one in charge. No offense. Try investing in a bark collar. They work wonders and your barking problems will will be no more!!! They can be a little pricey but are well worth it.

I would suggest talking to a behaviorist and your vet. A lot of times dogs can have anxiety and they can react badly. try to team up with those people and see if that helps.

you are not the leader of your pack, and you need dog trainer to help you. go to petsmart and take your dog and explain your situation, they have great trainers and they are inexpensive. She should be walking at your pace not you at her pace. TRAINING will work. Promise
