I just dyed my medium brown hair a honey blonde shade - it's definatly lightened it but not to the desired shade. If i repeat the colour will it lighten it more to the correct shade?

I'd look on the box for an 800 number and call them to be sure it won't damage your hair.

My sister used a haircolor called blackberry. It turned her hair a purpley mauve shade. She called them and they told her what to do - my point is, then can advise you.

If you use the same color it is not going to lighten you anymore, using color to lighten hair is difficult to get the correct shade, normally color is used to go from light to dark. If I were you and you wanted a more blonde color I would go one shade lighter, stay away from ash and red as it will pull a color you do not want. If all else fails buy some bleach (not good for you hair but it does the trick) lighten it up with the bleach then put the color on this will give you the desired shade. All of this should be done in moderation to prevent, overprocessing.

No, if you want to lighten your hair you need to use bleach. Not bleach like clorox, special hair bleach. If you want your whole head lightened your stylist may be able to do a bleach wash or if you want some spots lightened you may want to hilight your hair.

I have dark brown hair and in order for me to dye it any color lighter, even red, I have to bleach it first. You should talk to a professional stylist or if you wanted to do it yourself at home they have different hilighting kits you can purchase at your local discount store like WalMart or Target, don't worry they come with directions are are pretty easy.

NO! Do not try to lighten it again. Just go outside more with lemon juice on your head. It WILL lighten it. If you do decide to die it again wait 6 weeks or it will be fried to the point where you'll have to do a mayonnaise, egg, and strip it on top of all of that! BIG NO NO! Never die it again to lighten it.

Probably not. You need professional help. From someone who does hair.
