I don't understand how the church allows gay priests if the Bible clearly says that homosexuality is wrong. That would be like picking and choosing which bits they liked and discarding anything they didn't.

I have never heard of any gay imams- I know you can say not that we know of- but it really doesn't happen because a gay Muslim is not likely to be that religious and if they are they certainly would not be imams, that is because it clearly says in the Quran that it is not allowed., just like it says the same in the Torah, but you don't seem to ever hear about gay imams, I have heard of gay rabbis on the news, but alot about priests.

Then again that would be like a Muslim drinking alcohol and some do, and the Quran saying it is wrong doesn't stop them, but it certainly would not be allowed by any mosque, so how come the church has got so relaxed? I always thought the church bends rules to fit in with the changing society.

Sorry- I didn't mean to offend gay people. I was not talking about gay people in general. I was asking how people who say they are following a religion that does say homsexuality is a sin and then think they are following properly. I was only talking about priests because it does say in the bIble/Quran/Torah that it is not allowed, the debate was nothing to do with whether I think it is immoral or a religion does, it was to find out why it is allowed when it is not allowed by the said religion. I wasn't trying to be offensive to gay people, it was just like me asking say- why a Christian would think it is OK to eat pork when it says in the Bible they can't or a Muslim to drink alcohol when they can't and they still try and justify it. Does that make sense? It doesn't mean I was being offensive to pork and alcohol, just the people who do it when they whole point was they don't!!

The Bible clearly states that homosexuality (man laying with another man) is wrong. I think it is one thing to have homosexual tendencies and another to act upon them. I think you are right in what you say, 'pickng and choosing which bits they liked' etc. I saw an interview on tv last week with a gay minister. I can understand his feelings, but I do not agree that it is alright for him to have a same sex partner. After all, ministers, vicars, whatever they may be, wouldn't be able to live with a woman without being married. If they wish to have a relationship, I think they should leave the church. They should be setting an example and not leading others astray.

This whole debate is lopsided. The Old Testament condemns homosexuality, and is clear cut on it. The New Testament speaks of sexual immorality but is nowhere specific about homosexuality. The practise has been condemned by the church since its inception based on the premise that God created Adam and Eve and not Adam and Steve! And all creatures are created male and female. There is something called free will a person today is not forced to accept the Bible so just walk out of the Church and be happy and follow your homosexuality. I am a Bible Based Christian and I have a couple of lesbian collegues at work I have no problems at all with them I personally don't approve of what they do but I'll never tell them that it is wrong. It's a choice. That is why God gave us free will. If you are to follow the Bible then you cannot be homosexual and invent your own pick and chose methods of Interpretation.

The key word in your question is Christian. If they claim to be Christian, they will make excuses for them.... If they just claim to be a homosexual, they're EVIL! and are going to burn in hell for eternity.

As far as the "Church" is concerned.... it's only concerned with the "Church".

And you're statement about no gay imams not happening because it says in the Quran..... funny.... there are really religious Priests (as you just pointed out) in Christianity that do it and it says in the Bible not to. The groups are no different when it comes to these types of things. It depends on how well the individual hides it, is all.

Because many seminaries have been infiltrated by radical homosexuals, and others who are attempting the destroy the faith. This is no secret. There is a book called GOODBYE GOOD MEN, written by Michael S. Rose. This book lays it all out.

This is not to imply that every priest who comes out of that seminary is going to be a flaming homosexual. The problem is, homosexuality is not only tolerated, it is favored, in spite of Church doctrine.

You make a good point. Why is this behavior being tolerated? Part of the problem is, there are bishops involved. The answer is, people need to go higher, and if necessary, go to the paper, and the police. Exposure is the only way to root out the problem.

I think I understand what you mean but its more about interpretation. As far as I can tell it is only forbidden to have homosexual sex, it is not forrbidden to be gay. Despite what many believe, people are born gay, they naturally like the same sex. They cannot change that, but they can abide by the religious laws of sex. I see no problem with gay religious leaders as long as they follow the bible/quran/torah laws.

I can understand it only to this extent.

We are ALL sinners.
We just have many different kinds of sins.
And yet God uses us.

But we are not to keep and justify our sins, but to proclaim them as sins and ask God to change us so that we do not sin again (when He changes us, He will show us something else that needs work - we are a work in process).

When gays become priests or ministers, they need to say that homosexuality is a sin (they should ask for the people to pray for them also.

.GOD has given us our free will to choose between good and bad.i can rebuke anyone who is going wrong but i don`t have the right to judge.judgement belong to GOD.if one chooses to be gay he is a sinner like any body who take meat from his mum`s soup.we don't associate with gay priest or pastors.all u can do is denounce it don`t have anything to do with that but have to give that person the chance to change.for the bible say for all have sin and have fall short of His glory. And don`t generalise that the church allow gay priest.the church doesn`t allow ,the church reach out to everyone including the gay people too.we are the follower of Christ so we got to act like him,in his answer to his accuser that he associate himself with sinner,HIS answer was i came for the sinners and not the righteous.

You answered the problem with your last sentence. With so many sectors pushing for Gay rights (ACLU) same sex marriages, some churches have fallen to pressure to alter or disregard the truth in order to accommodate their immediate society.Look at how many Gay Churches are in California. Its no wonder affiliated churches in third world countries are willing to disown their counterparts in America.

Keep it simple. "I can justify murder if I want what I want more than to obey anybody, or any rule...including God or Christ."

Nazi party; especially Brown shirts, were all homosexual thugs, until Hitler decided to kill them as well, as a sacrifice to the army in 1934.

Unfortunately, too many Christian churches are willing to compromise their doctrine and the Bible for "political correctness" these days. The Bible is the Bible, and you can't change it to meet your needs. I'm glad my church doesn't allow gay people or women to be pastors.
