He may be scared to reveal his voice quality to you..or even communication skills.

I always find it to be strange when a man is not busy but will text me b4 he calls me....he must be hiding something, the whole thing with emails and text message you can end the conversation whenever you feel, if you ask him a question he doesn't have to respond...you need to tell him that it bothers you, and if he doesn't change move on!

Maybe he doesn't feel comfortable talking on the phone or feel he can say all he wants to. There are many that have that problem. It used to be romantic to receive written correspondence from a loved one. Why not look at it that way instead of a hindrance. It was something you could keep forever, even after romantic love had waned/moved on.

I don't know but I would certainly tell him that if he wants to communicate with you then pick up the phone and call. Texting makes me mad too sometimes.

He might just not like talking on the phone. I don't like sitting on the phone either, so I'll email my wife or send a txt to her, and then we'll talk when I get home.

don't just jump to conclusions, but tell him it bothers you. If he still does it when he knows it bugs you, it's time to dump his a$$... via email!

Email and text allow him the opportunity to create, edit and modify before sending.
Speech is Spoken and it is un-edited.

Just be, don't try to be, just be.

He is busy and probably shy to talk while others are listening. Look at all the good things he does and try to not complain about the little things.

I had the same "problem" with my ex :)
It's nothing really bad. I think he expresses better through sms and e-mail... and he doesn't like to talk on the phone. It annoys him.

LOL
