Just go cold turkey. Your baby deserves the cleanest oxygen it can get. Not to mention, you wouldn't want to risk your baby being born with breathing issues.
Best of luck to you.

There are two camps on this, cold turkey which is one I support, but there is reasonable reasearch from weening yourself off, if you are going to put yourself under a lot of stress quiting. The long term side effects to your fetus, can and will last well into childhood and even adulthood, so the sooner you stop smoking to better it will be for both of you. Below are some links to help you stop smoking including information on the long term effects of smoking while pregnant.

I was told to cut back, not quit cold turkey, because quitting smoking is a very stressful task. You have to stay firm with yourself though, but what better incentive is there than a healthy baby! Congratulations!!!

I would talk to your doctor and formulate a plan. Because quitting smoking can be highly stressful on yourself and things that are stressful on you, are stressful on your baby. If it were me, I would probably try and quit cold turkey and see how things go. But, if it's something that's turning out to be hard and stressful, get some help!
Best wishes...

Quit cold turkey...do you really want to put your child at risk? The longer you smoke, the greater chances your baby is at risk of being a low weight baby or whatever else smoking can cause.

Cold Turkey. I did...it was easy because I knew it was for my baby. Your baby needs as much oxygen as possible and smoking, cuts that oxygen supply with every hit. Do yourself and YOUR BABY a favor and quit, COLD TURKEY! Come on girl-you can do it!

Cold turkey! The sooner the better. Weaning yourself off of them might be easier, but think about your baby. Each time you smoke, your baby is smoking. When you want to light up, think about the baby and what you would be doing to it. Stay strong, you can do it!

Cold Turkey -My wife used to smoke and gave up immediately on finding out about being pregnant. She did at that with all of morning sickness the thought of lighting up made her want to be sick again... so there was an incentive there.
The main incentive should be your babies health. The early stages of pregancy are vital to the babies development. Hence reducing the risks of fetal damage are of utmost importance.
Good luck with the pregnancy , I hope all goes well.
