If Christians are really as concerned about other people souls as they claim they are shouldn’t they be willing to go to hell so some one can go to heaven? Or do they stop worry about other souls once they make it into heaven?

I starred this question not necessarily because I liked it, but it is a genuine, thought- provoking question. The answer is more opinionated.
First of all, everyone who's answers I read made it sound like you're selfish if you wouldn't let someone else go, let your kids go, (in place of you) ect...
But really. This is ETERNAL life, here! Not only will people be put through pain and suffering in hell, they're also eternally separated from God- the one who made them and loves them, and never stops.
Although this question is a thought- provoking "What If?" kind of question, I don't see a way that it would actually happen.
But honestly, I would say that no, a true Christian would probably not give up the privledge of going to Heaven so someone else could go there. Not out of selfishness- but just the thing they've been waiting for and yearning for for their entire lives.

Wouldn't Jesus be considered the first Christian? Did He not sacrifice His life and soul, and die a sinners death when He took upon Himself the sins of us all, and went straight to Hades? That many others could someday live in Heaven, a sinless life for all of eternity? You need to read the Gospels. Jesus has already done that for you and me and everyone that has ever lived or will live on earth!
No sinner could ever sacrifice their right to be in heaven, for God (Jesus)will not share His glory with another! No sinner could ever hope to rescue another sinner from Hades! Only a sin LESS person could do this glorious task. Besides, this wouldn't be a very smart thing to do, even if you could do it, seeing that the person in Hades was there because of stubborn, willful rebellion against Jesus's love towards them, and 'there was found no place in heaven for such a person!' All we Christians can do is pray for the salvation of someones soul, and do our best to lead them to Jesus, where it is possible. Let the Holy Spirit do the saving from Hades!

This question wasn't thought out very well. I'm sure no one here has been to heaven or hell, and if they had, they certainly would not be leaving. And the answer to this question would most likely be no. Why would anyone give up their place in heaven for someone who had recieved (and deserved) eternal damnation? You don't go to hell without reasons. I personally do not believe God would condemn someone to hell without a reason, and that reason would be the result of their actions; not any other's.

Most of these answers are so, well, selfish. I believe that, yes, if it were possible, and someone I truly loved was going to be sent to hell, I would make the trade. After all, how can I enjoy eternal paradise, if one of the people I desperately cared about was suffering. That wouldn't be paradise now would it.

How about a christian just giving their lives down here on earth so that more people might be reached and saved. Thats challenging enough. To put ones own desires to death so that God can use you for His purposes.

you stop worry about EVERYTHING once you make it to heaven. there's not going to be worry, trouble, strife, etc... in heaven. no sadness, or sorrow either. and while i am concerned for other people's souls, my concern for them can't get them into heaven. neither could my going to hell for them... one person CANNOT save another person's soul. everyone ultimately is responsible for their own soul. Christians are responsible for spreading the gospel and making sure everyone has heard the truth, but if they don't accept Jesus Christ as their savior, it wouldn't matter if I were willing to go to hell for them... if you don't believe, you don't get in... pure and simple.

No, they won't.
Christianity is all about the heavenly reward for the individual christian. If they felt and understood deeply enough that they would give themselves as such a sacrifice, then they wouldn't be christians.

How would sacrificing yourself to go to hell help someone else? You see, God likes self sacrifice when we help other people. Not that we should do anything that would relegate us to hell. I do not believe that such a thing is even possible.

Nice question. The easy answer is to say that God won't allow it, it isn't in the by-laws, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

I wonder if people would sacrifice their chance for eternal life for their children? Or would they be too selfish?
