Jesus taught his disciples how to pray:

Matthew 6

9"This, then, is how you should pray:
" 'Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10your kingdom come,
your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
11Give us today our daily bread.
12Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.[a]' 14For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

1. Where does he say to invoke his own name?
2. Why does he tell his disciples to call God "Our father" if only he is the son of God?
3. Do most Christians realize that they will not be forgiven if they hold grudges, and all their professing of Jesus as God is wasted?

First, a bit of background, there are two main views about the Lord's Prayer; some believe that it should be repeated verbatum, while others use it as a template. Those that use it as a template see it as first addressing God, then praise his name, acknowledge his sovreignty, petition for daily needs, repent of sins, and ask for spiritual guidance. As far as your questions. . .
1) "Our Father" is the invocation, but since God is three in one, we can choose to address the entire godhead, or just a part. We have to remember that Jesus was addressing his disciples who didn't have the rest of the New Testament to reference. They were operating in an Old Testament mindset. Since Jesus is part of the godhead, it is also correct to address prayers to him.
2) He is "the only begotten son" as of this in the Bible, but head to Romans and Ephesians where we are "coheirs with Christ" "marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit". This does not mean that we share in his divinity, but that we have been given the gift of eternal life, and has been predestined to adoption as the sons and daughters of God.
3) The strength to forgive is given through the Holy Spirit, and it is not of our own volition. It is not an act that we commit or an action that we are able to choose. Forgiveness of our sins is "by grace, not works, so that no man can boast". God wants us to forgive those who repent, just as he has forgives man when he repents.
On a side note, professions of Jesus as Lord are never wasted, no matter who's lips they come from.

KJV - Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Mat 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
Mat 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Mat 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen

End of Prayer...New Subject
Forgive others for what they do to you...God will forgive you as much as you do others. If you do not forgive others, then God will not forgive you.

Your questions do not apply to this, other than the last one and yes, the ones I know are aware of this, though not all practice it for sure. Honey...we do try and forgive others...that is part of unconditional loving or agape love.

The Lord's prayer is a model for prayer. It emphasizes putting God first, His agenda second, our needs third and our protection next. It IS not a prayer, it's an outline.

Later on in John, Jesus says, if you ask anything in my name it will be done for you...name there means nature.
The passage meaning that if we ask for something that Christ would ask for, it will be answered.
Jesus Christ is not God's son in the sense that He is a separate being...Christ is the second person of the Godhead. In John 1:1-18, we are told that Jesus is God in the flesh. "In the beginning was the Word (Jesus) and the Word was with God and the Word was God. Later on in that same passage we see that Jesus is in fact God's very nature. So Jesus is God.
Jesus always calls people, not just Christians, to a better life. The rule to forgive even our enemies applies to all people.
We are not to compare ourselves to others either by pointing the finger at a group of people (even Christians) and judging their behavior or deciding who is going to hell or heaven. We may be able to see or discern good or bad behavior but we are not to throw stones.

In Jesus Name... is prayed because of this:
John 16: 25-27 25"Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. 26In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. 27No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.

When we accept Jesus, we are Children of God... and children call their Father... Father

could ask this question too... why do catholics call their priests 'father' when Matthew 23:9 says this:
9And do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.

It is in forgiving that we are forgiven, and if Christians hold grudges/do not forgive.. then they have some work to do...

The Lords prayer replaced into under no circumstances meant to be repeated and repeated as a prayer by potential of itself. the completed factor of it replaced into to offer a instruction manual of how prayers must be built. ie. a pair of notes.... a million - God in heaven, enable your call be sanctified (get to comprehend Gods call, through fact it fairly is not lord, God, Father - those are titles in simple terms, check out Psalms 83v18), in different words absolutely everyone seems to be to compliment his call and enable it fairly is widely used. 2 - enable your kingdom come on earth, because it already is in heaven. In different words, there is already a appropriate kingdom in heaven, and now we ought to consistently desire that still to be upon the earth. (God or Jesus does not incredibly rule this international at this 2d in time, devil does - 1John 5v19) 3 - each and on a daily basis bread - be pleased approximately what nutrition etc.. you have accessible, do no longer make the pursuit for further and further (excessively) you're objective. 4 - Forgive - we can't ask God for forgiveness if we don't forgive different human beings. 5 - shop us from temptation and the depraved one - we ought to make a unsleeping attempt to no longer positioned ourselves in temptations way. it fairly is like asking for the ability and understanding to refrain from doing undesirable, and to help the guy stay seperate from the undesirable issues in the international around. i wish any of that helps.

A true Christian will not hold grudges.
I get angry and mad but instead of holding a grudge, I ask God to give me peace about the situation.
I have forgiven people for what they have done to me but I have not forgotten it. I am cautious of them...
God gives me the ability to forgive and if I go around holding grudges, it is taking away from bible study or helping others.

#1 It doesn't
#2 Because we are supposed to pray to God, the Father. We do not pray to Jesus but only pray in his name.
#3 I think many people have a hard to with grudges. Hopefully they are working on letting those grudges go.

Jesus is the son of God, Jesus is not God, and God is our Father.....But if we confess our sins to him he is faithful and just to forgive us...Sin breaks our relationship with God because it is rebellion against God. A holy God cannot live with unholy people. But when we accept Jesus as Savior and ask him to forgive our sins, this simple act of faith makes us righteous in God's sight.

1. (John 14:13) And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

2. (2Corinthians 6:17) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,(18) And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

3. (1John 1:9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 and 2 are similar: something can be 2 things in 2 different times simultaneously. thus, an idea is being invoked. also, it would be extremely hypocritical of god to not offer unconditional forgiveness, and then expect you to do the same, "or else."
