My cat is almost 5 years old and probably for the past 6 months or so he has been throwing up his food right after he has ate it. He has been on the same food since he was a kitten (science diet). I dont know what to do anymore we have tried different kinds of science diets to see if it helps but nothing. Why is he doing this and how can we stop it?

My cat does the same thing. He eats so much he tosses it back up. But, mine has always done this.
If your cat just started doing this w/ no change in his diet to cause it you should call your vet. They may have a suggestion or may want you to bring him in for tests. If nothing else they'll probably want a stool sample.

I had a cat once that did the same thing. The reason was that he swallowed a needle and thread which got caught in his throat. The needle was preventing the food from going down, so even though he was eating he was throwing it all back up causing him to be famished all the time. We took him to the vet, they did an x-ray, surgically removed the needle and voila, he was fine!!

Cats and dogs don't suffer bulima as natural instinct is to eat as much as possible - they don't care about body image.
You cat is vomiting or regurgitating (there is a VERY big difference betweeen the two) for some reason and I really think you need to get to a vet ASAP before he does tooo much more damage to his stomach and throat. If you had been vomiting for 6 months I would hope your parents/partner/friends would take you to a doctor!!
There as soooo many reasons for vomiting/regurgitation
1. worms
2. heliobacta (oesophageal reflux and bacteria of stomach)
3. Kidney failure
4. cancer
5. foreign body
6. food intolerance (mostly its to fish - most cat foods are coated in fish meal except whiskas advance adult cat chicken or hills feline z/d)

It sounds like your cat has hairballs. These are normal for cats, but you can help him by putting a little margarine or butter on his fur. He will lick it off and that will help with the hairballs. It only takes like a teaspoon every once in a while.

take him to the vet and get him checked, he may have a hair ball stuck causing him to throw up his food, my cat did the same thing and that was what was wrong with him
