he is a 13 year old staffy, when he has done all his wee's (only in the last 3 days) their has been blood coming out instead of wee, there has been a few blood clots to, he seems fine in himself acting like nothing is wrong. I have taken him to the vets the first day i noticed it. the vet said it could be bladder infection, he said lets treat what could be a minor problem befor we look into some thing major, like prostrate cancer. he was only castrated one year ago, he has been prescrbibed noroclav as an antibiotecics it has seemed to have worked as the blood has eased a little.

I had the same problem with my dog. He's 12 and a half. He was weeing blood and in a lot of pain. We were in such a panic. Got him to the vets that morning. They put him under and checked him for bladder stones I think. That came back all clear and he was on anti biotics for a week. That was last November and he has been fine ever since. It was a bladder infection. Possibly cystitis.
Good luck. I really hope your dog will be ok. Ours is like our son and we are in a state every time something is wrong with him!

A lot of time when there is blood in the urine it is due to bladder stones, or kidney stones. These can both be very serious and extreemly painful. Take your pet to the vet and they will do an x-ray and see if there are stones. If they are minor stones they might push fluids or if they are major they will require surgery. They will also talk to you about preventative measure like a change in diet and so forth.
Also another possibility are tumors in the urinary tract system. These will have to be removed or biopsied to see if they are malignant or benign.

Yeah go to the VET but It may not be a terrible diagnosis. If your dog keeps pestering you to go to the batheroom and only eliminates small amounts the dog may have a bladder or urinary tract infection. Your VET will recoment an alternate diet and will prescribe some meds.

Your dog has a urinary track infection. You need to seek a vet soon. This could cause excrushiating pain for the dog. There is nothing you can buy over the counter, just vet perscriptions will work.

I am glad he has responded to treatment ,
sounds promising . your prompt reaction probably saved him ,
When he has completed his antibiotic course
you will need ,to consult your vet, to find out what caused this
heamaturia
And to give ,any future treatment, necessary
He is already an older dog, he may have some other symptoms ,
that the vet would want to attend to, to keep him well.
I do hope he gets better again soon

Take him to the vet NOW and get a urinalysis. It could be struvite crystals or a bladder infection. Either way, your dog is in pain and this problem needs to be taken care of now.

He needs to go to the vet. He may have eaten something that damaged his intestines, could be a urinary tract infection, or trauma.
Probably just needs antibiotics, but he needs to see a doc.

why are you on here asking this question? Get on the phone and get an emergency vet appt. now. This could be a very serious issue and should not be put off or ignored.
