They have a different tolerance level for alcohol, or they have been drinking for so long that their body has become used to how to metabolize alcohol quickly.
This, of course, does not make them "better" than other people, but probably alcoholics.

I never get drunk because I stop drinking when I had enough.

lots of reasons.
--liquor tolerence. some people drink alot on regurlar basis, so their body can handle more liquor.
--they weight more. pounds wise.
--the amount of liquor in each drink.
--# of drinks per hour. if you have one drink per hour, then you can drink for several hours, and be fine.
--if you just ate lunch or dinner before drinking, then you can drink more.

i hate it when people are like that, and i get buzzed with like 3 drinks, no fair!! lol

Because their motabolism can handle the alchohal better than others can...
