No measurable distance between the gun and target...in other words, up close.

The term point blank as it is normally used on TV and in the movies is is incorrect. They should use the term "contact distance". The explanation of what point blank range really means is rather long and somewhat tedious if you don't understand ballistics. However if you really want an explanation, send me an e-mail.

Right up close. Anywhere from a few inches away to direct "barrel to skull" contact. Point blank shooting produces 'stippling'...small, black specks that is gunpowder that has lodged in the skin around the entrance wound.

You know...like Sonny Corleone said..."You can't shoot 'em a mile away like you did in the army kid...you gotta get right up to 'em and 'badda-bing'.....you blow their brains all over your nice, Ivy-League suit".
