Find a very good yoga instructor. You can also do Pilates. Remember to also strength train. Flexibility without proper strength can INCREASE your chance of injury. Consider trying Russian Kettlebells. Check out info below regarding the Kettlebells and excellent stretching and workout routines by Pavel Tsatsouline, former trainer for Soviet Union special forces. Try to find a certified Kettlebell instructor. Once you get the hang of it you won't ever think of joining a health club. 10 minutes 3-5 times/week is all you'll need to get the strength AND flexibility you desire. Remember--follow proper form at all times! HAVE FUN!!!

Stretch, Pilates, maybe Ballet?
My dad started stretching regularly at the age of 20 and can still do the splits both ways. He is now 60 year old.

I would recommend Pilates. Depending on where you live, you can go to your local health club and they may offer classes. Yes, in resent years, it seems as though Pilates is for women, but it was actually invented by a guy named Joseph Pilates in the early 1900's.

Oh, and by the way...

It's NEVER too late to get in shape. Remember, you can do anything you want if you put your mind to it.....well...unless you're dead. (hehehe!!!)

The American College of Sports Medicine offers guidelines for cardiovascular, flexibility and resistance training. The guidelines are flexible enough to allow you to pick your own exercises but have enough structure to get you going when you first start out. They are pretty easy to follow and will make your workout easier and more efficient. For more information on exercise, visit http://straighthealth.com

its never to late for anything! you can try for starters jogging that will make your legs strong enough to hold your body when doing flexible things. then you can try doing splits and cartwheels till you get them right! then you can move on to handstands and sumersaults!
