sorry i have to ask this now, in relation to the question previously asked, "Why do christians prefer violence to sex?
They'll drag their kids by the thousands to see the obscenely violent "Passion of the Christ" but express outrage and horror at the sight of a female nipple. I've never been able to understand that at all. "

my question is, if they made a movie about lot who gets drunk by his daughters so that they can have sex with thim. would christians express outrage and horror at the site of a female nipple in this movie? or would it be ok because its a biblical story?

I never took my kids to see Passion of the Christ, I think they are too young to see it- because it is very graphic, and yes it does break my heart, but for their ages, I would not take them just yet.I am sure someday they will want to see it, when they are older.

Any Christian i've got ever met has no longer taken their little ones to work out that action picture. the reason that action picture became so huge interior the Christian community became via fact that is what our Savior went with the aid of to maintain us from the hell. some thing you're able to or would possibly no longer have faith in. that would not actually matter huge style for this subject rely. intercourse isn't a sin. intercourse outdoors of marriage is a sin. even nonetheless, that would not rely the two throughout this subject rely. i think of you have a solid factor there. there are multiple shows on television and a impressive style of movies that are very violent and human beings permit their little ones flow see them. i do no longer think of the 'hobby' is a robust occasion via fact it rather is approximately Jesus and Christianity and Christians will argue with you to the dying on that. i think of in the event that they are against intercourse and nudity, then they could be against violence. it is going to be a similar around the board

If I were a betting man, I would say that Christians would not flock to this movie as it is an obscure story that has little relevance to our eternal well-being. Also, Christians still will avoid sexual content as it is much more tempting than violence. This movie would not be OK in the Christian world. Also, is it porno sex or lame old style Israelite sex? That would be the end all question......authenticity man!

Have you ever heard of 'Judgement Day'?
If you didn't know, the christians believe that in the future Jesus is supposed to return and take them all to (a) god in 'heaven'. But, in order for that to occur the Earth has to be in the worst possible condition than ever before. The christians WANT this to happen. It's the only way they can obtain their supposed 'eternal salvation'.
Therefore, they will invite, perpetuate and initiate conflict/violence because they want this to occur during their lifetime. Don't believe me? Just look around. This world is going downhill fast.
And to think, this is more acceptable than anything to do with our natural means of reproduction.

Both are bad in my book. I have not and do not intend to see the passion of Christ. I believe that we can full well get an idea of what Christ went through by reading the Bible. I do not need to have that portrayed in all is gory details.

And no, a graphic portrayal of Lot and his daughters would not be acceptable.

It would be OK, if it were a story of Truth. But, I've been thinking a lot about the graven image thing this morning. Because last night I was trying to recall my vision, and how it was like a movie. But it wasn't like a photo or a film, I was there. It was not an image.

Actually, I think that it is probably not the sex or the violence per se that it the problem, but how it is portrayed.

Is the point of the movie to show violence as a good thing that we should imitate, or is the point to make you feel so sorry for the victim that you refuse to commit violence yourself? Context is sometimes everything.

This preference is not exclusive to Christians, but it is predominant. I've never understood it.

To paraphrase Spider Robinson, there's something seriously wrong with a society that finds a naked blade less offensive than a naked woman.

It all depends on context. If the character being tortured and crucified had been anyone but Jesus, there would have been screams of dismay at its violence. But since it's Jesus...

So nudity or sex in a "Christian context" should be able to get a free pass.

Christian porn.

It's OK if it's biblical story. In fact, next Sunday at my chuch they are showing the Mitchell Brother's flick "Sodom & Gomorrah"
