Swami Vivekananda started out an atheist and when he met Sri Ramakrishna, he asked him whether he could prove there was a God, and to his shock, Ramakrishna said yes. Most people who are asked that question (myself included) really don't have a great way to explain the existence of a God (and for me, I don't think I'm qualified enough to really give strong evidence). For someone to know, confidently, about the existence of God and for him or her to be equipped to show anyone else that He exists, that sets him apart from the rest.

Needless to say, I think "awe" and "admiration" are the best words I can come up with, because Vivekananda became his disciple soon after.

He was a disciple of Sri Ramakrishna. He started the Vedanta Society and brought Ramakrishna's teachings to the West. He chose to make the philosophy the central core of of what he taught and minimized Ramakrishna's personality. According to Christopher Isherwood, he felt that he could have made more converts by discussing such a dynamic and holy person, but he thought the converts would be more superficial.

Swami Vivekananda addressed the World Religions conference at Chicago in 1893 with the blessings of his Guru. Sri Ramakrishna is born to reunite the conflicting religions of the world through the homogeneity of human beings as constituting one family which is one of the primary messages of the Indian culture to the world.

Let's use logic.

Krishna is a major part of Hinduism. He is an avatar of Vishnu who's wisdom created the Gita. Vivekananda was the man that really introduced Hinduism to the west. So Vivekananda probably respected or even worshipped Krishna (as many Hindus do).
