Dont people realize that the world is overpopulated with dogs and cats and many are being put to sleep. Some are starving, being abused. Some are living on the streets. I do my best to take care of strays. I have many I have rescued off the streets, as I am sure many of you have. Come on people. we can put a stop to this, Lets do it.

Some people just dont get it. There is nothing wrong with mutts. They are here. Lets give them a home.Would you like it if no one wanted you because of the color of your hair, or they didnt like your personality?

There are many unwanted pure breeds at the pound. If you just have to have a pure breed, go to the local animal shelter and pick one up.

Tom1, you can participate with any dog. My dogs live in the house and go for walks everyday.

My question as to why people allow their dogs and cats to multiple has certainly been answered. Whether or not it is right or wrong.

I ask this of clients all the time and the usual response is
"My dog/cat is the best looking and nicest personality of the >>>insert breed>> I have ever seen" and its RUBBISH!!!!
They think their animal is better than all the others of its breed and that everyone would want their babies but the sad fact is there are probably quiet a few just as nice and just as good looking sitting at the local pound hoping to get a lovely home!!
OR
They are too lazy or scaby to pay for desexing
OR
They don't believe in taking away the rights of an animal to breed HELLO PEOPLE have you ever seen a female cat get RAPED by a male cause thats what it is - its nasty and horrible and it leaves her bleeding bruised and sore for weeks afterwards.

its a free country and if ppl want to be ignorant they are going to be. just have to keep repeating ourselfs till we're blue in the face. tell them to help out at a shelter and when dogs/ cats disappear to the back room and the workers are carrying heavy black garbage bags to the Dumpster. that should change every ones mind...on breeding and getting animals fixed. if it doesn't then they are very special ppl (don't mean that in a nice way) they have no true love of animals and are in it for money of poorly cared for pups...with bad blood lines or just plain old mutts. and I'm a mutt lover. ppl always say they don't have the money to get pet fixed....most if not All shelters have a low cost fee for low income ppl.
i think breeding should have a licnice to do so of any breed if the good breeder saleing pups for pets those dog should have to be fixed as pups be fore they go to new home. if they are going to show they have to sign something binding them to not breeding and showing the dog. if breeding is to be done they have to go to the breeder they got the dog from and that bredder will find a sutable mate for that dog.

I know some breeders and some who just breed and still can't figure out why they breed and breed. Alot seem to like the money but they can't get rid of them once they are born cause people don't want to spend the money to purchase the animals. I wish they had more restrictions on breeding animals but they don't. So I go help out at the local shelter and hope everyone gets adopted.

Irresponsible owners.
It's easy to own a dog or cat...
But no so easy to deal with the responsibilities of those animals.
I personally feel that if you are not professionally breeding or showing the animals, they should be spayed or neutered.
No need to add more animals to the lines being euthanised daily.

get a life!!! The world is also overpopulated with people too, does that mean I shouldn't have children??? Like this is really the worst thing ever, I take care of my dogs and UH OHH I got them from a breeder not the pound, I guess I'm going to HELL for that one!! Why don't you worry about serious problems that our country has, like the drug dealers and child molestors that are out on 'the streets"-not the animals! Why not let reputable breeders continue to breed? I have researched and studied the breed that I am getting. Why should I have to settle for a mutt from the pound? I want a high quality dog, whose temperament I will know before I purchase him.

Many people have been trying to stop this for years. My suggestion to everyone I meet and know is to ADOPT. There will always be people who try to profit by over-breeding animals and the only thing I can do is try and make a home for them.

You are never going to get reputable breeders to stop doing what they do. They breed and show for the love of their breed. There are people that should not breed, but the good breeders should not be condemned for doing it.
