They'll drag their kids by the thousands to see the obscenely violent "Passion of the Christ" but express outrage and horror at the sight of a female nipple. I've never been able to understand that at all.

The outrage over a nude body is the expression of their guilt for letting lust and desire arise in the heart and loins... Unless a person has impure thoughts, looking at a naked body will be just THAT, looking at a naked body. Nothing more, nothing less.

Mike...my grown children went to see the movie...yes it was violent, but sometimes violence is what is real...my grandchildren have NOT seen the movie and will not see it until we feel they can understand the underlying message. I have never seen anyone express outrage at the sight of a female nipple except this one old lady who threw a fit because a woman was breastfeeding in a restaurant...none of her objections had to do with religion.

Personally, I much prefer sex over violence. This may be why you have never understood it...its not true.

Any Christian I've ever met has not taken their kids to see that movie. The reason that movie was so big in the Christian community was because it's what our Savior went through to keep us from the hell. Something you may or may not believe in. That doesn't really matter for this topic.

Sex is not a sin. Sex outside of marriage is a sin. However, that doesn't matter either in this topic.

I think you have a good point there. There are a lot of shows on TV and a lot of movies that are very violent and people let their kids go see them. I don't think the 'Passion' is a good example because it is about Jesus and Christianity and Christians will argue with you to the death on that. I think if they are against sex and nudity, then they should be against violence. It should be the same across the board

Violence was a common tool of the Christian faith when it became dominant in Europe. The Dark Ages were dark indeed.

On the other hand, sex was regarded (certainly by Paul--a misathrope at best, a closet homosexual possibly) as a "dirty" or "unclean" act...as was anything that involved the flesh. Idiotic, but we're stuck with it.

If I have been a making a guess guy, i might say that Christians would not flock to this action picture because it rather is an imprecise tale that has little relevance to our eternal wellness. additionally, Christians nevertheless will sidestep sexual content fabric because it rather is a lot extra tempting than violence. This action picture would not be ok interior the Christian international. additionally, is it porno intercourse or lame previous variety Israelite intercourse? that must be the top all question......authenticity guy!

The Passion of the Christ is the story of a Christians history. Read the Bible stories of Christ. It's a movie that finally proves how hard Christ faught to win out hearts. It's like learning about the american revolution... bloody and not pretty but necessary.

the passion of the Christ was a movie that actually happened except it was worse than what we can imagine. sex is supposed to be done in the most private of all places. and also we are supposed to stay away from any evil and watching stuff like that is very absurd. i hope this helped.

Paul, being a closet homosexual who hated his sexuality, screwed it up for normal people who want to be Christians.

The OT had, by and large, a healthy view of sex (although punishment did tend towards stoning). Solomon, after all, had 700 wives and 300 concubines. As another example, after the conquest of the Midianites, the army kept (as what the KJV terms "booty") 32,000 young virgins of which 32 were given by Moses to the chief priest Eleazar "as the lord commanded". (Numbers 31:32-41)

Because the bible and church are riddled with violence and sex is considered a sin. Go figure. I'd rather watch sex. Although action films are really cool too.
