So, it's going to snow all weekend and my 4 1/2 year old Jack Russell Terrier HATES the snow! So, when we go outside, he promtly does his business and wants to go back inside...

That would be fine, except, he doesn't get enough exercise this way and he gets nuts when he isn't exercised enough...

What are some good in door activites we can do that will wear him out without destroying the house. Anything involving throwing or tossing something simply won't work.

Also, he has boots and a coat, but I think he hates wearing those even more than he hates the snow...

Try tossing a toy around for a while. It is not only entertaining to you but is wonderful exercise. Also if you pet has a high food drive try getting toys that you can put food into that he has to work at to get the food out. Also if you have a treadmill you can use that. Start out slow, barely a crawling pace and then speed it up once he's used to it. Good luck.

Take your dog to the local Petsmart where he can be warm and have fun. The only other thing was the coat and shoes but thats out or roll a ball in the house but that is also out so that is all I have for you. Sorry Good Luck

You could set up a little obstacle course for him.

How can you not throw or toss anything in the house when you have a jack russell? That's all my jack russell ever wants to do.

A Tredmill. This is what Cezar Millan (Master Dog Trainer) does this to exercise his high energy dogs. He just puts a leash on his dogs and ties them to the front of the Tredmill and start the Tredmill on slow until your dog gets use to it. Jack Russells are high energy dogs so this will calm him down.

Count your blessings you have a dog that is considerate of YOU. At least he doesn't make you stand out in the cold while he makes a carreer out of doing his business!

Try arranging your furniture in your house so he has a staight path. Then you sit at one end and throw his toys and make him run after them.
Shame on YOU for complaining about THIS dog! Chances are he will save your life someday.

Having him walk or trot on a treadmill is a sturdy way for him to burn potential. Hiding treats or toys around the abode will shop him occupied as nicely. i might advise utilising products of canines nutrients so he would not finally end up ingesting too a lot.

Hide and seek is fun (if you can get him to stay while you hide). Also toys with treats inside, like a kong, will keep his mind and body busy. Perhaps you can even arrange an indoor playdate with a puppy friend? :)

You must play with him, they are very high energy dogs and need their exercise.
I suggest you do not put the boots on him if he hates them.
