Hmmm, a 16 year old girl ditching school?
When did this happen? Monday or Friday or was this mid week like, Tuesday through to Thursday?

Do the one thing that she won't expect, treat her like an adult.

Tell her in as few words as possible, that you know that she ditched and that it is unacceptable and stop there, don't lecture, don't allow her to draw you into an argument, just tell her to either sort her issues out on her own, or she asks for help.
And finish off by dismissing her from your presence by telling her to do something specific, like close the door on the way out, or make sure that her little brother / sister has started their homework.

State the problem (provide evidence)
State acceptability of problem.
Make her responsible for her own problem while giving her an option of help.
Make her directly responsible for something or someone else.

No try this method : She ditched just play into tell her no punishment and make her live with guilt of ditching. don't forget to add a little something like " It really hurts my feelings that I do so much for you and this is thanks i get in return. Or if want to make really regret I guess you could turn her in but your her mom you have to keep her best interest in mind do what you think is right.

Don't go to that extreme, but punish her. Take away all her privilage and make her understand that ditching won't be tolerated

she'll get suspended for a few days probably. do you really want to punish her for skipping school by giving her 3 days off? ground her.
