I just got a tattoo on the lower part of my leg that pretty much goes from an inch below my knee to almost my ankle....I got it like two days ago.....now my hair is growing back.....The thing is, I NEVER shave with a razor on my legs, I always use nair.....so my question is...can I nair right over the tat...or do I have to wait until it heals up more? The tattoo itself feels fine, and it doesnt hurt or itch or anything....so what can I do? And please only answer seriously people......Thanks :-)

No you need to wait a couple of months before putting something like that back on your legs. I would wait until its fully healed before you even shave that part of your leg as well. I know you'll probably feel gross for not shaving but itll be worth it in the end when your tat is looking great.

Good Luck

I'd wait a few more days. Its not completely healed and nair can be really harsh on the skin. It could irritate the area and your tattoo would never look the same again. You could try some neosporin on the tattoo or A & D Ointment. That should help speed up the process.

a tattoo is basically a wound, just self-inflicted.
if you read the nair bottle it should state not to use on broken skin=tattoo.... if you had a big cut on your leg would you put nair on that (i hope not)
wait until your tattoo heals to go back to nair (or at least avoid that area on your leg)

You need to wait until it is healed. Don't shave or nair it until then. Trust me you don't want any infections. The best suggestion would be to put an antibotic on it to heal it quicker, but no lotion, nair and don't shave.

no, no, no, no, no, no, no....

it's still an open wound... re: itching=My tattoo didn't start itching until about 4 days out...and BOY DID IT ITCH once it started (i b*tched alot about it).

Wait until you are COMPLETELY healed up before shaving or nair-ing...Nair has some harsh chemicals in it...

EVEN after it appears healed, that new outer layer of skin is NOT going to be able to handle those harsh chemicals. Be hairy for awhile - you can SHAVE after you have completely peeled and the skin appears fresh.

I would wait six weeks before using anything as harsh as a depilatory. The skin simply won't handle it.

Above all, ask your tattoo artist. They will not be able to guarantee their work if you don't follow their instructions.

Definitely wait until it's completely healed. You don't want to be applying harsh chemicals to what is essentially a large wound.

NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Sorry to yell, wait for the tat to heal. Then, you can use the Nair again.

don't do anything to the tattoo until it is completely healed.

you better wait until it heals, Im not totally sure. just use a razor on that part for now until it heals in a few more days.
