It depends on how much you smoke, how often, and body fat. Depending on those factors and possibly others for a urine test it should be out of your system in 30 days or so, but it could be out in less than a week. For hair tests from what I hear they test the closest 1.5 inches to your head including the root (if your hair is that long) and still test even if you shave (the root is still there) and also from the same sources the 1.5 inches tests roughly 90 days or so.
As for the second question it is not physically addictive, there is no chemical reason to become addicted to it. However some people report a mild psychological addiction and have trouble quitting basically because they don't want to quit and they like it too much. Also some people lace pot with other addictive drugs, so that causes problems.

When marijuana is smoked, its effects begin immediately after the drug enters the brain and last from 1 to 3 hours. If marijuana is consumed in food or drink, the short-term effects begin more slowly, usually in 1/2 to 1 hour, and last longer, for as long as 4 hours. Smoking marijuana deposits several times more THC into the blood than does eating or drinking the drug.
Within a few minutes after inhaling marijuana smoke, an individual’s heart begins beating more rapidly, the bronchial passages relax and become enlarged, and blood vessels in the eyes expand, making the eyes look red. The heart rate, normally 70 to 80 beats per minute, may increase by 20 to 50 beats per minute or, in some cases, even double. This effect can be greater if other drugs are taken with marijuana.
As THC enters the brain, it causes a user to feel euphoric— or “high”—by acting in the brain’s reward system, areas of the brain that respond to stimuli such as food and drink as well as most drugs of abuse. THC activates the reward system in the same way that nearly all drugs of abuse do, by stimulating brain cells to release the chemical dopamine.
A marijuana user may experience pleasant sensations, colors and sounds may seem more intense, and time appears to pass very slowly. The user’s mouth feels dry, and he or she may suddenly become very hungry and thirsty. His or her hands may tremble and grow cold. The euphoria passes after awhile, and then the user may feel sleepy or depressed. Occasionally, marijuana use produces anxiety, fear, distrust, or panic.
This is why people become addicted b/c they constantly yearn for the feeling of euphoria they get from it..
Hope this helps

Michael-M is right
THC stays in your system based on a couple factors
Your body fat content, and how much and often do you smoke
THC is not a physically adictive drug. You may feel that you Need Your Pot, but you will not suffer any other withdrawl systems other than mental
If you have been smoking over a long period of time Well over a year...it could take approx 3 months before you will pass a drug test
Hope this is helpful. And put down the joint and leave it alone!!

Maryjane normal stays in your system for 30 days. But you can buy a colon cleansing pills at GNC which will clear you out in a week or two. Also you can by drug test at your local CVS to make sure your system is total cleaned out. Pot is not addictive or bad for you. Smoking the herb reveals yourself to yourself.

It will show positive in a urine test for 30-35 days. THC is not habit forming in pure form but some pot is laced with other drugs that are addictive.

Well... it technically never leaves your body. But any traceable amount will stay in your body for about 30 days. I know that people will go on detox's to get rid of it in like a week, but that's just like fasting. And yes, it is addictive, but it's different for everyone. =]
Hope this helps.

THC does not fully leave your system for a rather long peroid of time--a month, even.
But it is not inherently addictive.

30 days, it's stored in fat, it's only psychologically addictive...not chemically
