Basicly What I'm wondering is, what are the breeds that aren't super high energy? My mom has a jack russel terrier, and if you know about dogs, know they are very high energy kind of dogs. I'm going to be moving out soon, so I'll just deal with him bouncie theivery. Though when I do move out I would like to get a SMALL dog, but not one with so much energy. I understand that puppies atleast are all high energy high maintnace.. and I'm ready for that, but I'd like one that mellows out after a few years atleast so I can sit and relax with my dog.

If there is any possibillitty of any one knowing how a Corgi is could you please tell me. I've looked on some sites, but they aren't as informational As I'd like.

Thanks for your time and dealing with my grammer and spelling mistakes.

peace out.

a general rule is - the smaller the dog, the more energy (with the exception of Labs who have bounds of energy)

If you want a lazy dog, you should get a St. Bernard, Basset Hound, or Golden Retreiver

But, my advice to you would be to accept the fact that if you can't handle hyper, you should get a cat. No matter what breed, you can't really know what a specific dog is going to be like. My friend has two Siberian Huskys, one's full of energy, one is really lazy....

I have a Westie, supposed to by hyper, she's very lazy... but my JRT is (like your mom's) bouncy and nuts...

So, it's impossible to predict... you may have better luck if you look at rescue organizations and tell them what you are looking for. Then if they find an appropriate match, they can inform you.

I've only met one corgi and it was pretty hyper. Most small dogs are extremely hyper, it just matters how you train it. Go to the library and check a book about all dog breeds in it. The one I have has a checklist you follow and it tells you what type of dog is right for you. Or google "how to find the right dog" or something like that and they have surveys you fill out and will tell you. Good luck!

Oh my gosh! My grandma has a corgi and I cant stand being around him. He is so annoying, he jumps all over the place and he is probably way more hyper than your moms jack russel. The other totally gross thing is that corgi's have these "tufts" around their butt, and if you don't get a sanitary cut on him/her all the time, he/she will drop "dingle-berries" all over your house! I cannot stand that dog and would strongly discourage anyone from getting one. If you have any other questions, you can email me or something....

Most English Bulldog's tend to be very laid back, more of your sleep the day away type. But they can get pretty big. My dad's second one was bigger than our Boxers, though they are on the smaller side of the standard.

And there's plenty of health problems.

Your best bet is to just start looking up dog breeds.

The laziest dog is a grey hound. My friend has a grey hound and hes pretty lazy.

If you want a small dog get a pug. I have one and she has alot of energy but she will calm down. Pugs are really fun and they are so cute.

I'll have to agree with the Basset Hound vote. I also have found that King Charles Spaniels have a reasonably quiet disposition.

Corgi's are very good dogs and tend to be a bit mellow at adult hood. Another good breed is Tibetan Spanial they are small and mellow at adult hood. But any dog can be frisky and hyper . I think it all has to do with their environment. Good Luck

The laziest dog I have ever had was a laborador retriever. It was a great friend though. Just lazy.
