What's the best way to make a burma trail?

Only kiwis might know what a burma trail even is?! So if you don't forget it.
I got to set one up in a couple of weeks, anyone got some ideas for good pranks or things to do along the way?

Wandering around blindfold through a wet and cold muddy field is not exactly my idea of fun but if that is what it takes to turn you on go for it.
