Just because a car is inexpensive doesn't mean it's cheap to insure. Nor are the higher-priced cars always the most expensive to insure. But if you're concerned about high insurance rates, avoid the temptation to splurge on that new $33,000 Honda S2000 convertible. And don't think you'll beat the high cost of auto insurance with an inexpensive car -- that little Volkswagen GTI listed at $22,000 will cost almost as much for insurance as its big brother, the Passat, which costs almost twice as much.
(Although this is mainly new cars, it holds equally true for used)

Yes, The BMW will cost more than the Honda. Generally car insurance are based on Class of the Vehicle, cost it take to repair after accidents, etc...
Some exception applies like performance vehicles cost more to insure.
It doesnt matter how much the car worth or what year it is, cuz the cost to repair an 1995 BMW 3 is about the same as a 2007 BMW3.

RE :Car Insurance Question?
I am looking to buy a used car, but I am unsure as to what models/manufacturers will be set at a premium insurance fee. For instance, would a used BMW 3-series ($2000) cost more in insurance than a used Honda Accord ($2500)?

The 3 series is typically 25-35% higher to insure than an Accord based on if they are the same year and both have a 6 cylinder engine. If the Accord is a 4 door, 4 cylinder, auto trans. then you will save even more $$$. The Honda might not be as flashy but it is a much more reliable car and better value in the long run. Good Luck!

It depends on alot of factors.
-Cost new of the car
-How expensive the car is to repair
-How often the car is stolen
-Statistics on how often that particular car is in an accident.
I'd say for those 2 vehicles it would be about the same... A little more for the BMW maybe. The only way to know is to ask your agent.
