Depends on what he/she said as far as how I would feel. The best way to deal with it is simply dismiss it and move on. It is usually an exercise in futility in trying to reason with them and there are better things to do than to fight a losing battle. As long as there is humankind, there will be bigots, whether it is based on race, gender, sexual orientation and even size.

I try to avoid the narrow minded. I think of a bigot as someone who treats a group of people with hatred and intolerance due to ignorance and fear. Knowledge is the key to ending a bigot's attitude but it's real hard (maybe impossible) to find an open minded bigot!

of course i must ask , how do you deal with yourself ? i find that if you deal with a bigot as you deal with yourself that it works out fine . or maybe what it is is that i myself am a bigot and in fact proud of the fact . that being said , and knowing how i like best to be handled , the best way to handle a bigot is to treat him as you treat yourself and if in a few days , or whatever , if he , or she , cant get the idea that his , or hers , bigotry hurts your senses or sensiblities than the odds are , no matter what label is bestowed , you know , upon another person , that the person in question really isnt compatible. all of my friendships are based on this premise so there you have it .
