I forget where exactly it is, but there's an island in the Pacific that has formed an ecletic mix from all the religions it's encountered and its patron saint include William Shakespeare, Sir Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, and a fair few others. You could try finding out what it is (I can't lay my hands on the book where I read about it) and thereby have a huge number of saints' birthdays to celebrate; alternatively you could follow the example of L Ron Hubbard, who invented Scientology out of whole cloth, and form your own; get a few like-minded friends to sign up; have some fun deciding on your commandments, your saints, your festivals - and of course the rewards and penalties involved in your religion, because it seems that no religion is complete without a selection of vicious threats with which to condemn those who don't sign up for it - and then get it registered as a charity (and maybe as a limited company) and you're off to the races.

Actually, I like the idea of registering a religion as a limited company. You could issue shares (a shareholding of x% entitles you to be a bishop, for example) and you'd probably get a few lunatics to sign up for it.

It would not affect bank holidays as these holidays are state inspired and in the UK/USA would be predominantly christian, ie. christmas and easter.

You would not only have to take up the primitive religion but you would also have to go and live in the country which worshipped it, eg. Egypt for Islam.

However, I would argue that all religions are equally 'lazy' because anyone who believes in this primitive, superstitious garbage obviously hasn't thought it through rationally and deeply. Basically all they have done is accepted what somebody else has told them.

You can't get any lazier than that!!

Every day can be a holiday if you believe in yourself, religion and faith can only be secondary to ones self belief. Wake up each day and live life to the full

Christianity. You get the most holidays off work and you don't really have to practice what you preach.
