Senario: You have growing church and right now it's so crowded that more than half of the people have to stand or sit in the asile. You suddenly come into a whole lot of money that can be used to build a a larger, brand new church so everyone can sit and not be chlostrophobic. Would you do it?

Absolutely NOT.

If your church has access to SEVERAL MILLION DOLLARS, my God, woman! Think of the people you could help! The programs you could participate in! The scholarships! The tutoring! The after-school programs! The food banks for the poor! The job training! Planting trees all over the city!

Think outside the box.
If your church is "crowded" then it would be a very simple matter to stagger the times of the services. You could have worship all day long!

DON'T SPEND THE MONEY ON A BIGGER BUILDING. JESUS SPREAD THE WORD IN THE STREET IN SANDALS.

No. That scenario would never work for me as I am not and will never be a church goer. If I had several million dollars I would invest it as best as I could so that I could take care of my family and friends and help charitable works like finding a cure for breast cancer. There is great suffering in the world that extends beyond not having a place to sit in church and I would try to ease that pain.

It would be nice to help out your church that way, that's very thoughtful of you.

However, I would really think of helping out the poor, under privilege and sickly people first. At least those people have a church to go to. There are many in this world that have no building at all or don't have the freedom to congregate for a church meeting.

Build a modest church that can hold everyone and invest the rest of the money to create income for the church to give it freedom to do more community outreach and such. Mega-churches are a little suspicious, but yes-build and improve.

Need more room? See about trading facilities with a dying church. there are plenty around. Several million dollars? Look in Acts and see what the first century church did with their money(Hint:They didnt build a building)

If I came into several million dollars, I would donate a sizable portion of it to the work of my religious order and some other charitable organizations. Since my religion does not stress building houses of worship, the money would more likely be used to help with our many outreach programs.

I'd tell the people to look around and realize there is no deity, leave the church, and start buying staggered 12 month certificates of deposit so that I could turn my millions of dollars into steady livable income.

I would wonder why as an Agnostic I was going to church in the first place then I would by a new computer, pay off my student loans, buy a house.

Yes i would... what would i need that much money for? i would have no idea what to do with. I am not greedy so i would help the church out. I am a Catholic and i was raised to help others before myself. that is what i have done my entire life. So instead of keeping that money i would give it to the Church.

I'm not really into the idea of church infrastructure. I'd use the money to go on missionary trips and to help out our community. We can always meet in shifts or someone's big backyard.
