Okay, well my girlfriend just sent me a text message telling me she's in a lot of pain, feels like she's getting her period but she said it's too early... What does this mean?

Okay I think it's just under a week early. She IS on birth control. She was on it, then stopped for 4 weeks, then started again, and it's been about a month since she went back on it... My worst fear right now is that she may be pregnant... how likely is that? (she IS on the pill)

I get them too, about a week before my periods I get these cramps, they hurt a lot. So she's like not on her period, but she's in the same amount of pain as if she's really on her period.

It's too early because it's not there yet, there's another week usually before she has it marked on her calender (girls like to keep track of when their periods are going to be, so that they can be prepared for it.) Other than that, girls who don't keep track expect it to come every thirty days or four week or something.

So she's just anticipating her periods but they haven't happened yet.

She could very well be having her period early and thats normal. Some months have more days than others and that causes our cycle to change even skip days. She must know her body and she must know how strong her cramps are every month. Ask her to rate the pain in a scale from 1 to 10. Ask her about the previous months, maybe they were a 5. Maybe now her pain is a 10. If so, she should see her doctor. Our mestrual cycles could give indications of more serious problems. You guys having sex? Does she have any idication she could have been pregnant and this is an abortion? She should go see her doctor.

The Pill can make periods irregular and they can give you horrible cramps when you finally have your period. If she thinks shes pregnant she should take a blood test at her doctor's office. The home pregnancy tests might not pick it up because of the pill. It could also be that her body is trying to regulate itself since she hasnt been consistent with her birth control.

P.S. Your worst fear is that shes pregnant?!

Well with her being on the pill and then off and then on again, it may make her period come earlier then usual because her body is adjusting to being on the pill again. thats why the doc tells you that it takes a month for the pill to start working fully and correct. besides that just tell her to put a heating pad thing on her stomach and that will help with the pain.

well most womens cycle is not always every 28 days some more some less.. It is not a bad sign that she starts early. I would be worried it she were late. At any rate on the other side of the coin maybe she is warning you to give her some space if she is pmsing.. good luck!!

Periods never stay on the same schedule unless on birth control, and even then they can be irregular. Getting her period early is nothing to be alarmed about. Be glad it's not late!!

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha sorry dude....
Girls get their period on certain days of the month. We count out 28 days in between each time and then we get it. So if she is getting it early then it means exactly what she says--she is getting it early, like instead of 28 days inbetween there's only like 24 or something.

If she experiences pain pre and during her period then I wouldnt worry because the female menstral cycle periodically changes without warning. If she never experiences pain pre or during her periods...she should be seen by a doctor.

It can just mean that she has a irregular pathern of her menstual cycle. you don't have to worry about that. But if she is using the pill, then its a bit weird, cuz that shouldn't happen. However, girls can also be wrong. Maybe she's just having cramps, and thinks that it's comming, while it isn't.
